The Comment Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority is advancing the Watch The Paradise-Shamirpet elevated corridor, an 18.1-kilometer infrastructure project along State Highway-1 designed to separate long-distance traffic from congested surface junctions in northern Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The project, valued at approximately ₹2,232.89 crore under an EPC-turnkey contract, aims to connect Paradise Junction to the Outer Ring Road at Shamirpet, bypassing critical nodes such as Karkhana, Alwal, and Hakimpet. Authorities estimate completion by early 2028, contingent on resolving utility shifts and securing remaining defense land parcels. Implementation has triggered significant urban disruption, with ongoing land-acquisition notices covering areas including Bholakpur, Thokatta, and Kakaguda. Preparatory works have already necessitated the demolition of commercial establishments, hospitals, and key public facilities, specifically the Trimulgherry Regional Transport Office and the Marredpally Traffic Police Station.
